The Barred owl is such a pretty bird. We have three of them in our backyard as well. In fact, as I type this, our favorite owl, Eclipse, (he comes by so often that my family and I gave him a name xD) is outside in his usual branch, sleeping :)
Not only that, but this is such a lovely picture. The owl was looking right at you as you took it :3

That is a really nice picture.
For me, who haven't seen an owl in freedom, it is a pleasure to see your pictures.

And I have to admit, I envy you a bit because of that ;)

Thank you very much.
I had never seen an owl in the wild until the fall of 2012. I don't know if it is because I am becoming more aware of my surroundings or if they are becoming more popular to my area. Whatever the case may be I know I am fortunate to see them.

Those eyes are somewhat hypnotic. I'd be transfixed where I stood in the woods. A wild deer had that effect on me whilst walking through ancient woodland in France. It was a mystical experience. Thank you for this photograph.

That owl was around everyday for about 3 months. It was mesmerizing.
Thanks again!

I'm sure it was. I can see why they're associated with wisdom :)
